Trouble over Tipple. Dry Tongues, Desperate Eyes await Patna High Court’s View on Prohibition.
The 6000 odd outlets selling liquor across Bihar have never seen famine of this kind. The kind of famine which ensures no delivery of liquor to sell. There are either no takers for the lactic liquids that these shops have the option to sell….. or the margins on milk/milk products is not addictive enough.
To beer or not to beer is now the question before the Patna High Court, whose judgement is awaited. If the Honourable High Court agrees with the public consumption of these far from honourable liquids, ‘the tired and the thirsty’ may just have to grin and bear it. The socially vulnerable (namely the women in the alcoholics’ families) may likely applaud though.
